The computer has only one USB port uses ethernet-over-USB, so it had no free ports most of the time. This is an elegant solution that allows me to leave the various USB devices I use in the office plugged into the hub, and just reconnect the plug when I bring in the laptop.
Four stars rather than five because (1) I wish it were a little smaller and the cord were a little shorter, and (2) it will sync but not charge an iPad 2....

This review is from: GWC Technology HU2044 USB 2.0 4-Port Hub (adapter-style housing)I was looking for something small yet compact to add to an Apple USB wall charger (the kind that comes with iPad). Well after seeing quite a few splitters, I decided to try this little white one because it wasn't too big, nor too long of a cable.
With a tiny bit of two sided sticky tape, I was able to mount this beside the USB wall plug, and now have 4 chargers instead of just one.
If you are looking for a small, solid USB hub, then this is the one. It doesn't feel cheap like some, it actually has some weight too it which gives it a more solid feel, and it looks good too. If I ever needed another hub, I would definitely buy a second one....
