This review is from: Ultra 4-Port USB 2.0 HubAfter looking at a number of similar items, I picked this one for two reasons: the price and the looks of it. Others were higher priced and seemed to serve the same exact function, plus many of them looked junky, were too big, etc. This hub does NOT have external power, which makes it nice not to have to deal with yet another power adapter and cord to plug in, string across your desk, or carry around with you. The only drawback to that is that if you are using some very high powered devices at the same time, (such as USB hard drives or the like) that may require too much voltage and supposedly could shut down the computer or devices unless your computer puts out enough power through the USB to handle it - or you get one of the USB hubs with external power cord.
Personally, my little laptop has had no problem with anything I've plugged into this device. I've had my mouse, a USB to Ethernet adapter, and a 300GB External USB drive all hooked up and going at the same time with no problems at all. I definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for an inexpensive and dependable way to expand their USB ports....

It was very inexpensive and I had read a couple of reviews stating this, so I am pleased with it. I bought 2 of them and have no problems at all. They have a 1 meter cord and have them plugged into tower PCs that are on the floor and the hubs sit on my desk. Definitely worth the money!...
