Pluged it in and it worked just fine as I was using a thumb drive to save updatdes and transfer files. It takes little desktop space which is important to me in the kitchen computer nook. Light helps me not to bump into the desk chair at night but I might unplug the light power if the light gets to be too much. What else to say...it works....
