This review is from: Syba SY-HUB20062 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port Hub Backward Compatible with USB 2.0When connected to Windows 7 Pro 64 bits the device was recognized and a generic driver loaded. Unfortunately My external USB 3.0 disk which worked perfectly when attached to my computer directly worked only on ports 2 and 3 and not on ports 1 and 4 of this hub. This changed pretty quickly so that it did not work on any of the ports but still worked when connected directly to the USB 3.0 connection on the computer. Based on my experience and on reviews I've read failures seem to occur with a lot of these devices and I am returning this hub for a refund. Buyer beware....

After reading some of the other reviews I believe there is some misconception of what backward compatible means. This has to be plugged into a 3.0 USB port to function at the 3.0 speed. If you plug it into 2.0 port, 2.0 speed is all you will get. Duh!?...
