This review is from: Hi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PCHi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PC - I only put one star because i couldn't choose ZERO! DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! I bought one for my daughter at college. When she plugged it into her computer, it shorted out ALL the USBs and the mother board had to be replaced! The company (HDE) said that in order for them to "make it right," they needed 100% proof that it was this device that caused the problem. Thank goodness it was still under warranty. The computer company determined the problem, which they said was plugging this device into the USB port, and they sent us a new mother board. Seems like common sense to me... everything is ok, plug the device in, nothing works! hmm. wonder what the problem could be? Then after asking them for a refund, it was not sent. I called HDE 2 months later to find out what happened to my refund. They said all my information was lost. I finally got the refund. I would not buy this product or deal with this company again if THEY paid ME!...

This review is from: Hi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PCMy experience was much the same as J. Ring, I also would have rated it zero stars if I could. As soon as I plugged the hub in and plugged my mouse receiver into it everything started going from bad to worse. Lights started dropping on the Hub, XP indicated overload on USB buss. Fortunately I immediately disconnected the Hub from my USB to save my computer. After disconnecting the USB Hub I determined that my mouse receiver no longer worked, not recognized in USB. As near as I can tell I am out the wireless mouse because there is no replacement for the reciever. The 7 Port Hub is now totally dead also, no lights when powered by the AC adapter....

This review is from: Hi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PCPros: It's light weight, the lights are colorful and entertaining, and allows me to connect more than two devices to my computer

Cons: With the supplied AC adapter it didn't provide enough power to run my Simpletech 160GB hard drive with both USB plugs inserted and getting my Xbox 360 controller to work with it was bit of a pain. But it does work with it. the included USB cable is very short, and it's hard to remove things from the ports, I am worried I'll break the thing if I'm not careful. Also, I didn't like the clear plastic look to much

Update January 28 2010; someone made a comment to my review stating that the power supply is likely dead. So I ordered the one that he recommended and found that with the new power supply it will run the hard drive so check the power supply when it arrives...
