This review is from: 10 Port USB 2.0 HubI bought two of these, as they seem like a great idea - and so inexpensive! I had read bad reviews on this hub as sold by other sellers, but decided to take a chance. Wasted my money, which was mostly shipping costs. Shipping was nearly twice the cost of the items, but I knew that when I clicked the confirm button. I should also have read the seller's return policy, which is basically not return friendly.
In any case, neither hub worked. Plugged in power, power light comes on. Plugged in devices, and none of the indicator lights next to the USB ports came on, on either strip, a total of 20 ports with lights that don't work. Tested it with a device that indicates when it is connected, and that device would indicated connected for some of the ports, but not others. Then when I would unplug/plug back in for that same working port - not working. I suspect the wiring connections inside are poorly done, so you may get a connection if Mars is aligned with your front doorknob or some other random reason, but otherwise forget it. Also as mentioned in reviews by other (from another seller), the connection of my USB device to the port was very flimsy.
Too bad, I like the strip form factor. Most other USB hubs have cords coming out in both directions, making for a bigger mess of cables than absolutely necessary.
Oh well, trashing the whole mess....
