This review is from: Hi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PCThis item works exactly as described.
I wouldn't purchase this item again for the same reason I purchased it; The brights are extremely bright. It lights up a room. The whole unit is lit with a bright blue light in the middle that flashes. It would be nice if this center light could be dimmed or switched off.
The port lights are steady and I have no issue with them, only the center light.
Perhaps I may need to attach this item to the bottom of the desk....
This review is from: Hi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PCi thought this was a pretty cool little hub rite out of the package but did notice some problems, first off, your power cord is only about 3ft long which is a real bummer because you need your power strip close to the top of your desk to get the hub in a spot that you can actually use it, then i notice your usb cord is very short too about the same length as the power cord which hardly gives you room to work with although you can always buy a new one since its a basic plug
now onto its performance
it is a plug and play device no drivers that need to be installed which is great for someone who doesnt really have the time to mess with something that should be simple. All of my devices work when pluged into this, but they have to re install themselves which is only like a 2 second process, my ipod touch took a bit longer than usually to start synching but thats okay after the first time it will get used to it and go much faster
now the looks
this thing ofcoarse has led lights on all of the ports which are oddly not all blue, i dunno why the title of this product says blue because there are only a few blue leds the rest are assorted colors, that kind of bugs me because it makes it look like christmas lights when i really would have just liked blue leds, the middle led is fairly bright and flashes 3 colors constantly and can get distracting but doesnt really bother me that much, if it does you then just put it under a desk or something
so that about wraps it up with this little product, oh its generic brand so you wont find any specific company names on this, just a oem product
so i recomend getting it...
This review is from: Hi-Speed 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub +Power AC Adapter for PCI bought one of these at a local computer shop and it worked fine for a week or so, then I plugged in my Maxtor 500 GB USB drive.
Within two days I had errors accessing the drive and could not navigate around the directory structure. Unplugging the USB hub and rebooting cleared it up but it occurred again after plugging the drive into the hub.
Exchanged for a new unit, same problem with a Seagate 1.5 TB USB drive.
I'm now looking at a name brand (D-link, Belkin, etc) hub. No more no-names for me....
